Hidden OS partition tool for all branded PC/laptop

To respond to my earliear thread - which is closed (Hidden partition tool utility):

I have find a program that makes the hidden instalation partition - basically for the Win7 OS . I managed to make this partition on my Dell laptop and on a HP Pavilion PC. This utility in google could be find like R e c o v e r y T o o l s 2.0.9... (whithout spaces :D) and makes partitions very similar to the original ones.

If somebody knows an other free utility I'll be glad to test it.

If this thread dissobades the rules I'm sorry - I'm only writes an inform - and ask the moderator to delete it and whithout ban me.

    Bye

          For most users... maybe none.

But in some specific situations it can be very helpful.

Its like creating a hidden folder, it's always good if you know how to do it

To restore the hidden instalation partition - mostly used on branded laptops (nowaday when you buy a laptop the instalation CD is missing)..

all laptops usually carry a hidden partition that takes the restoration of the system to its original state, for it to start the equipment is a function key to activate and start the restoration.
Usually F5, f6 f8 but also any other it really if you look at the boot after bios

                  I am kind of misunderstanding
If You will make hidden partition, how will it help you to restore your laptop. Hidden partition itself doesn't contain no recovery information.
If win 7 installs itself on unformatted hdd, it makes such a partition with some recovery information provided by windows.
I, myself, don't believe in healing properties of such partitions.
It's better first to partition the disk to primary/extended partition, format it, then install OS. Even smartest win7 won't create no hidden partitions. Less hidden things on your pc - less problems in the future.

Last month i bought an Acer and had to create 4 back up disks so i could restore if needed just the same as the restore disk you got with older laptops.

Re: Hidden OS partition tool for all branded PC/laptop

Usually hidden partition for all branded PC/Laptops are mades to recovery factory settings because a virus, os problems, etc...

This can be done basically in two ways. For one thing, reinstalling Windows back with a DVD obtained by purchasing the computer, or using a recovery partition. More likely is that in modern equipment the first choice is not available, and restoring to be done by partitioning.

Each manufacturer provides a different solution to recover a system. The following is a list of each recovery software.

                      S.ony: S.ony V.aio Recovery Wizard
                      G.ateway: G.ateway Recovery Management
                      D.ell: D.ell Factory Image Restore
                      A.sus: A.sus Recovery Partition
                      A.cer: A.cer eRecovery
                      H..P: H..P PC System Recovery

Recovery program can be accessed from Windows. However, if there are problems accessing the operating system, you can always enter it during system initialization. During booting the computer will display which key should press for access.

Each software is different, but basically behave the same way. After running the restore program will choose the restore option, the program will warn you if there is likelihood of data loss (hence it is always advisable to make a backup) and will lead to the next screen.

This next screen shows the process. At this point you can not go back, and you can only see how the system is being restored. It is normal for the restoration process takes about 30 minutes. The speed will vary depending on system capacity.

When the process is complete, Windows will restart and everything will be the first time you start your computer after purchase. There are likely to encounter some problems, for example, that some buttons do not work. This is due to the lack of drivers. Therefore it is highly advisable to visit the manufacturer's website and download the drivers for the specific model of laptop.

To access to that partition in order to recovery our laptop, we must, usually, use hotkeys when pc is booting.

                      For example:
A.cer and P.ackard B.ell branded PC the hotkeys combination are:
                      Alt+F10

                      C.ompaq and H..P:
                      F11

                      S.amsung:
                      F4

Probably the most important brands have hotkeys in order to recovery default factory O.S. settings.

There are some applications to do that, any partition manager, as partition magic i.e. can do it.
But almost all branded PC or laptops have a hidden partition to recover factory settings and usually it is hidden to avoid accidental deleting.
                          Regards.

This is partially true - partition magic and other oldie programs (they are obsolete) could not manage the AHCI mode disks and gave 101 error if you are trying to read it - than this disk is damaged and you could loose all the information, and if you're lucky you'll be able to restore the master boot sector, if not everything is gone... Other thing - these hidden partitions are usually FAT12 or linux partitions. Different thing is if the laptop is with EFI not with BIOS... but by now just a few models are changed to EFI - this is mostly used on servers...
