Re: Best video converter

i would recommend a video converter that supports gpu encoding. a very easy and good one is MediaEspresso from CyberLink (see _http://www.cyberlink.com/products/mediaespresso/overview_en_GB.html). It supports ATI and NVIDIA GPUs and runs very fast.
A very good free prog is AVIdemux (not only for AVI). Thats like the ferrari in between the video converters :)

Hope i could help you

You can use the ultimate freeware application called super.

The link is here ; http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

Small info :

SUPER © Simplified Universal Player Encoder & Renderer.
A GUI to FFmpeg, MEncoder, MPlayer, x264,
MusePack, Monkey's audio, Shorten audio, TAK audio, True audio,
WavPack, the libavcodec library & the theora/vorbis RealProducer's plugIn.

If you need a simple, yet very efficient tool to convert (encode) or play any Multimedia file,
without reading manuals or spending long hours training, then SUPER © is all you need.
It is a Multimedia Encoder and a Multimedia Player, easy-to-use with 1 simple click.

SUPER © "The Player" surpasses any known player by supporting just
any Multimedia file format. SUPER © plays files that cannot be played with
WMP or even other libavcodec-based players like MPC and VLC.
SUPER © also plays and saves Internet Media Streams of different
protocols ( mms:// rtsp:// http://)

SUPER © "The Encoder" is the fastest and simplest tool to encode full
length movies to any other format without any time or function limitation.

NO trial or evaluation version of SUPER © but one unique
Free to download and Free to use fully working version.

SUPER © does NOT require any additional external codec to

I use total video converter and Iam very pleased with it, it can convert every file in what ever you whant.

But it doesnt use multycore and it doesnt use gpu to speed up conversion.

Re: Best video converter

I personally would not download and use anything with a -soft- in its domain name. They run like 10 different www addresses, why do you think that is ? Could it be their low credibility and reliability ? Anyway, I've had a very bad experience with them in the past, wanted one thing and got it together with a malicious software.

You might have a look here as well : http://www.avi-mpeg-converter.net/ - converts all the essential formats you want.

Re: Best video converter

I had this very same question a while ago, so now my advise is:
- ConvertxtoDvd
- AVI2ISO

Use one of this programs with CCE encoder and you will be happy with the result.

Note: Both of this programs are really intuitive but you will find many tutorials all over the net if you have some problem in the process.

Cheers! :)

After using several commercial video converters for HD & SD file, finally i stuck with "XMedia Recode" which is free as well as very much effective to use your latest multi-core processors. I personally checked all the 4 cores of my i7 is being fully utilized by XMedia Recode while converting HD files.
The Converted files ( like .mp4, .mkv etc ) is ready to play in stand-alone media players like WD-Live etc.

Be aware to provide sufficient ventilation for your CPU since at the peak 100% of cpu efficiency is used by this software. But you can keep CPU usage to medium via option.
