Get back to the days of a leaner, faster better performing media player with this great performing application.
Do you remember when playing movies on your computer was easy? All you needed was the movie file and a mpg file and you were set. Now a days, you have to worry about libraries and catalogs and stores... ENOUGH! If you want to return to the simplicity, then you need to take a look at Media Player Classic. It's really the easiest way to play video on your PC.
Window Media Player Classic is an enhanced version of Windows Media Player 6.4. This program can play DVDs with the help of external decoders like WinDVD and it can also play RealMedia files, if RealPlayer One is installed. Gone are the complications of WMP 7 and later. Now all you need is Media Player Classic.
Pros: Small, quick, uncomplicated, easy to use, light on computer resources.
Cons: The appropriate video codecs, from ANOTHER program (like WinDVD) are required to play specific video files or DVD's.
Conclusion: This is one of my most favorite applications. Media Player Classic makes it easy to quickly play a movie or DVD on your PC without having to worry about the bloat of applications like WMP or iTunes. The only real problem with this application is that it doesn't include all of the necessary and required video codecs to play DVD's or files like RealMedia files without the codecs from applications like WinDVD (or other appropriate DVD player) or RealPlayer ALREADY installed on your PC. While this isn't a complete deal breaker, you do need to be aware of the requirements and install those "support" programs or codecs separately.
The Czech language player is readily available and finding the right language/translation for you was a bit of a challenge on the developer's site, but after a bit of hunting, I was able to find the version I needed.
