Introduction
Digital photography is all the rage. It's so compelling that most everyone that I know who isn't computer savvy wants to jump on board. The biggest problem with people in that category, however, is that once they have their pictures, they don't know how to enhance them. Red eye, resize/crop, etc. and similar activities become problematic. This is where applications like Picture Dude Image Converter come in handy. It’s a graphics utility for Windows that most everyone can use.
Picture Dude Image Converter will convert individual, multiple or even folders full of images from one format to another. Depending on the application you're working with, and its imaging needs, PDIC, with its ability to convert images in up to 90 different file formats should be able to get your images in the right format. You'll also be able to remove red eye, bulk resize, rotate and crop, bulk rename files. For those images that need and require copyrighting, PDIC can also watermark images through its easy to use process.
Pros: Easy to use, Watermarking; vast array of tools & functions.
Cons: GUI is a bit overboard and clumsy.
Conclusion: The application offer's a lot and is reasonably priced. However, the biggest problem that we encountered with it was with its interface. The application uses a non-standard GUI, not following the standard Windows XP / Windows 7 GUI standards. It makes heavy use of transparency and custom graphics that may cause issues with your mouse or other pointing device. We had trouble with our mouse arrow and lost track of it when it hovered over the main application window. The application itself processed images without issue.
