    Need some suggestions from our best forum

    I have old PC :HP Vectra VL400 PC


    CPU Interface 1 Pentium III (Socket 370)

    Frontside Bus 66/100/133 MHz Dependent on CPU

    Maximum memory 512 MB, max 256 MB per module
    USB Supported 1.0 (dual channel, two ports total)
    Hard disc drive Ultra ATA-66 10-80 GB 5400 RPM
    Max number of Hard disc drives Two
    Graphics Integrated 815
    nVidia GEForce2 GTS 32 MB
    nVidia GEForce2 MX 32 MB
    AGP 815 integrated 4x
    Network Interface Card (integrated) Integrated 3Com 3C920


    I want to use it to put ubuntu server on it


    Since few days i succed to put inside this old PC an ubuntu server 12.04.......but now i dont know wat to do with it ...some suggestion...i saw so many information...LAMP,FTP,SERVER,OSCAM,WEBSITE.....

    Mate, only you know what you want to do with this server ... (or maybe I misunderstood you question).
    Anyway I don't think it's a good choice for a 24/7 system because of it's high energy consumption.

        yes,
        you could do a nas server, web server, even cs server ...
        But, before you begin, I suggest you to take a measure of the power consumption of this pc.
        There are cheap Watt meters around or, if you have a digital multimeter, you can check mA flow in AC range, then apply formula W = VxI (it's only an approximation, because with AC things are little bit more complicated)
