    Spoonwep wpa alternatives ?

    Hi,
Is there alternatives to spoonwep or spoonwpa on another linux distro other than Backtrack ?
I did test Backtrack5 but can't find a tool like spoonwep.

Thank you , it will be usefull.

Btw , after one hour looking on ******, i also find one who seem to work like spoonwep/wpa , it's a little distro called beini-1.2.3 , 50mb image. But hard to find, i just find a link who work 30min ago on 4shared , all others links are down or spam.
From what i saw , the distro seem stable , and work fine, but i did not crack my own wep key yet, so , can't tell if it work 100%

Why have you moved away from Backtrack it is the best when looking at security issues especially when you install it in virtualbox also you get lots of tools specific to the security market.

          Re: Spoonwep wpa alternatives ?

I had Backtrack3 ( still have the live cd ) , and i was looking for something new but , can't find, even Beini is very similar to spoonwep/wpa.

I know that in Backtrack4 , tools such as spoonwep are not present.
I also know that we still can try security issues on Wifi , but by typing commands... but what commands??? ****** is not as before,... when i search , i only found tutorials who don't work , so , that's why i was looking for something else new.

I would like to test my modem and his actual WPA key , is there a distro and/or a good tutorial for dummys for the use of Backtrack4 or 5 ?

          Thanks

              Spoonwpa? It really works?
And in what linux distro we can find this app?
I have backtrack 3, 5, wifislax 4, and I have never heard something about Spoonwpa.
I know reaver but I have never made anything with this app. It really works?
I would like knowing where I can learn something else about this matter.
              Best regards.

Yes it do works, but you need good dictionarys sometimes, the backtrack3 dictionary may be not enogh.

WEP key can be anything , if there's IV's , it gonna crack it soon or late.

WPA , it need IV's , but after it neet also a dictionary for test each word or number sequence of that dictionary.
That's why you can have a dictionory for WPA keys for a specific brand of modem or DSL operator and also personal words such as turtle97, zorro77, 1234567890 etc...
If the password is something like @+Mox%£ ... it can't be find , at least i never saw someone do find a password like that as also no dictionary have these kind of sequences or just a few.

I know SPOONWEP process, but I have never seen the SPOONWPA app. In what distro can I find it? (Only backtrack 3?)
And talking about dictionaries, where can I download a good dictionary with words, simbols, and numbers for WPA wireless auditory?
                    Best regards.

You can find it in some versions of Backtrack 3, the Live CD i did download had SpoonWpa allready in it. I guess you did download a previous version of BT3 who do not have Spoonwpa.
                      Here goes a link _http://kat.ph/backtrack-3-spoonwep2-spoonwpa2-preinstalled-t4328095.html
But you can ****** it, you'll probably find more seeders.

                      For word list _http://kat.ph/collection-of-wordlist-dictionaries-for-cracking-wifi-wpa-wpa2-t5337709.html

Please, another question, how much time must wait to recover a wpa key?
                        Hours, days, weeks?
I'll download bt3 with spoonwpa inmediatly.
                        Best regards.

How much time for a WPA ?
Well, it will depend, of the complexity of the key of your modem.
Those i did find try to find did take from 10min till half a day !
And i try also a word such as %~@123ù ... and those ones... well, you can spend 6 mouths on it, you won't get it.

Also, on WPA you allways need a connected client on the modem, if not, you can forget it.

Also , a good soft in the case the modem only allow a specific IP, if 192.168.1.1 don't work for open your modem menu and add a new IP , you need to emulate a IP that the modem allready knows. try Tmac V5 R3 , ****** it for more info.

                            Re: Spoonwep wpa alternatives ?

                            Interesting thread
                            I found many new words.
I interested wifi cracking some years ago and thats what I found
To crack wep protected wifi all you need to collect enough IVs from network. There are some methods to boost the process. When you will get enough IVs you will easily discover WEP key with AIRCRACK NG.
To crack WPA (or WPA2 - no matter) you need to collect only one 4-way handshake. It's very easy to get. But then you have only one way to discover WPA key - bruteforce with dictionary. For me it means it's impossible to crack WPA WPA2 with technical means. On the first plane social engineering comes.
I'm pretty sure my router is unable to crack for it's protected with 20 simbol keyword made of russian phrase with grammatical mistakes on english keyboard layout without spaces.

I mean, I only have tested spoonwep, but I need test wpa as soon as possible, but with wpa I'm a newbie, but I think Spoonwpa must be very easy.
But I have a problem, I can't download the link of our friend cgac99 and I'm trying to install the swpa.lzm into my backtrack3 distro, and I can't do it. Because the live cd doesn't boot. Why I can't booting my live cd.
I copy the swpa.lzm into base folder, but when I burn the cd with nero, then I try to boot the live cd and computer doesn't make nothing.
So I ask for a link to download the backtrack3 with spoonwpa2 inside and the link works or why I can't boot my live cd.
I have chosen my CD unit as the first boot device when PC starts.
We will talk about Reaver nextly, but now I'm interesting to solve this problem.
                              Best regards.
Try to take the last version of backtrack ,the backtrack 5 here:
                              hxxp://www.backtrack-linux.org/downloads/
BackTrack 5 R3 was released on 13th of August, 2012.

and then follow that (all credit to the site : hxxp://ronnieflip.blogspot.fr/2010/05/installing-spoonwep2-and-spoonwpa-on.html)
First you'll need to download Spoonwep2 and Spoonwpa in the /tmp/ dir:

                              Code:
                              cd /root/Desktop
                              mkdir /tmp/{spoonwep2,spoonwpa}
                              wget hxxp://shamanvirtuel.******pages.com/SWPA.lzm
                              wget hxxp://neovortex.kodings.******pages.com/spoonwep2.lzm
                              lzm2dir SWPA.lzm /tmp/spoonwpa
                              lzm2dir spoonwep2.lzm /tmp/spoonwep2
                              code:
                              Code:
                              cp -rpv /mnt/sdc1/spoonwpa/usr /
                              cp -rpv /mnt/sdc1/spoowep2/usr /
This will create two files so that spoonwep and spoonwpa can be able to detect the interfaces

                              do
                              sleep 1;
                              done
                              ln -s /usr/local/bin/wifispoonfeeder/spoonwpa/tmp/wscapture-01.csv /usr/local/bin/wifispoonfeeder/spoonwpa/tmp/wscapture-01.txt 2>/dev/null
                              rm /bin/sh
                              ln -s /bin/dash /bin/sh " >/usr/bin/spoonwpa.sh

                              Now make it executable:
                              chmod 755 /usr/bin/{spoonwep.sh,spoonwpa.sh}

You want to make sure that they appear in the BackTrack menu. So let us change the desktop file and edit the command:
                              mv /usr/local/share/applications/spoonw* /usr/share/applications/

Open up spoonwep.desktop in any text editor of your choice and change the line Exec giving:
