Sets permanent opt-out cookies to stop behavioral advertising by 102 different advertising networks, including ******, Yahoo, Microsoft
Beef Taco (Targeted Advertising Cookie Opt-Out) is a Firefox extension, a fork of the original TACO v2.0, which went commercial in v3.0 and no longer suited my needs. Please consider both versions before selecting one, as TACO 3.0 has many more features.
Developer comments
Beef Taco is not a complete anti-advertising toolkit. Please consider using multiple add-ons for more robust privacy protection. Some of my favorites are: BetterPrivacy, NoScript, Flashblock and Ghostery*. Feel free to make recommendations of other useful add-ons in the comments.
Visit http://jmhobbs.github.com/beef-taco for the latest updates and to report bugs.
Also, please do not be too harsh on Abine in the reviews. They are trying to start a commercial company and made some (IMHO) bad decisions. That doesn't mean they are malicious or evil, TACO 3.0 is actually a decent product when you take time to understand it. You can read more of my feelings on this at http://www.velvetcache.org/2010/06/17/forking-taco-2-0
In the meantime, let's keep this a positive, happy place, shall we.
Thanks!
