The Fotoxx project is a Linux program for improving image files made with a digital camera.
Here are some key features of "Fotoxx":
· brightness/contrast: change bright and dark image areas independently
· reduce haze and intensify colors
· HDR: merge underexposed overexposed images to improve detail in both bright and dark areas
· panorama: stitch images together to make a wide image
· crop: select area of interest and cut off margins
· rotate: level a tilted image or rotate 90 degrees
· resize: 2/3 1/2 1/3 1/4 or custom ratio
· red-eye removal
· sharpen fuzzy edges
· reduce noise in low-light photos
· stretch/distort image by dragging mouse
· view EXIF data (no edit)
· needs 100MB memory to edit 10 megapixel images
· GUI has English, German, Spanish
Requirements:
· GTK >= 2.8.x
What's New in This Release:
· A Portuguese translation was added.
· New: mass resize images (for website photo upload, e-mail, etc.).
· The new Linux standard trash is used for trashed images.
· Select Area: follow-edge method: works better for jagged edges.
· Select Area: select by color: faster and easier control of selection.
· Thumbnail gallery: added a "list view" option (no thumbnails).
· Live help via F1 key is now available for all functions.
· HDR/HDF/pano align/warp: handle larger image misalignments more accurately.
· HDF interface for fine alignment was made more intuitive.
· View/edit EXIF: easier to process a series of images, e.g. add text comments.
· Mass add tags: use image gallery window instead of file chooser dialog.
· Save-as with "new version" checked: use the highest existing version 1.
· Minor improvement in warp area algorithm.
· Bugfix: convert RAW: popup report sometimes omitted a converted file.
· Bugfix: an image saved as tiff-8 was actually being saved as tiff-16.
· Bugfix: sporadic crash if a selected area touches an image edge.
· Bugfix: the color of all edit curves could change sporadically.
· Bugfix: HDR/HDF sporadically showed a partially black image.
· Bugfix: image_gallery: if first directory opened is empty and "parent" is selected, crash.
