    Linux Mint 17

    For all of you, who wants to try a linux system.

    To run Linux Mint from a USB-Stick use Pendrive-Linux. It`s the easyiest way.

      It 's best to install the operating system on the hard drive as on pendrive you can't really save anything .

      I would anyway , that's what i've done with my Kali linux distribution .

          i have installed it on an external usb-drive and made a completely backup on a usb-stick, which is also bootable. but you are right, it's better and faster on a hard drive.

              Hi mate I'm interested in trying Kali does it work on VM? I have win 8.1 laptop and rather use VM then do a separate partition and dual boot.

                  It's possible to make a kali usb bootable stick with persistent storage.
                  I do like this
                  - Boot a system from pendrive
                  - Run software (what kind of software - like aircrack, reaver etc)
                  - save results to persistent srorage

                  About kali linux on VM (I mean VMware)
                  It's hard enough to install kali from usb to VMWare
                  You better download prebuilt vm

                  Then download free VMWare player and run downloaded file.
                  But I'm afraid you will need to use USB wifi card. I'm not sure it's possible to turn on monitor mode on virtual netcard

                      Believe me , i have tried to mess about with it on a Win7 laptop with VMWare , but i could not get it to work properly , best option is to dual boot i think , but i had a small netbook i was not using and put it on that as the sole operating system .
