    about oscam ymod

Hello, can a oscam expert help me?
With latest bh image on vu+ duo the version enigma2-plugin-cams-oscamymod18-t37_dvbapi_bh_all.ipk works,
    the enigma2-plugin-cams-oscam-ymod18-t40_bh_all.ipk doesn't work.
Is this because the t40 isn't dvbap_bh_all ipk as for t37?
I don't understand. With not working I mean channels won't open.
oscam ymod would be more stable than normal oscam, is this correct?
    Thank you for the help.

    Re: about oscam ymod

You can unpack .ipk with 7-zip or just rename suffix in .rar and unpack with winrar.
You will get 3 files: focus on "data.tar.gz" and unpack it, keeping directory structure.
Doing that with both .ipk packages you can check differences between them and, above all, after installation of t37 (the working one), you can replace only the binary of t40 over binary of t37, leaving all the rest unchanged.

I wouldn't bet on it ... version ymod has emu feature added and when a piece of software becomes more complicated it's not supposed to be more stable (unless something else is stripped down, but ymod is closed source and we can't know for sure).

Leveraging the topic: I am trying to install "e1-oscam-ymodv18-t40-ppc-old" on my dm500s but the emu does not starts. I have only changed the original "oscam" file by the ymod oscam file. I have maintained the other oscam files in: var/tuxbox/config

With original oscam file everything is working fine but with ymod no. What could be the problem?

      regards

I have a enigma 1 box: dm500s with openpli installed. I have simply copied the binary. It seems the oscam does not initializes.

          How to do a log?

          regards

Just run it from a telnet console.
Before launching, check that no instance is already running.

Hello, my friend. The problem is solved: the config files from "normal" oscam are not totally compatible with oscam ymod. I have deleted the config files and have copied the original ones from ymod then i have made some adjustments.

              regards

Yes mate, it was my guess ... that's why I asked you to install from a package (where all config files have the right format) and not a manual install.

btw, what is the telnet command to see the log and to manually run the oscam?

                  regards

Suppose your oscam binary is named "Oscam" and is stored in "/var/bin" ...
From a command shell (telnet), just run
                    Code:
                    /var/bin/Oscam
