Versions of OSCam

Hi all,

I have 8440 running on a Raspberry Pi but should I be re-compiling a new later version again or is there much difference between versions ?

If your current version is stable and does al the things you need leave it as it is!

Most of the people does not have the need for aditional features.

Although you have the option to try a newer version and if not satisfied put back the one you where happy with ;-)

The new version usually has a text file describing the new features.

You can update it, but Oscam is an every day "workInProgress", is possible that a version is working, tomorrow not and the day after tomorrow works well again.

i always try to upload a new version of emulator, including oscam, but as a rule it is not affected by the view of the canals or on the switching speed, so everyone decides for himself, use the new version of emulator or use the old version.

No and generally if it ain't broke no point in trying to fix it!

Read the second post I already told him that.

As also told by: cisko the 1.20-unstable builds are "workInProgress"
There is a inprovment in speed from a certain build and upwards bud only afects receivers and not pc based platform.

The best way is to go for a stable 1.10 build if you want to avoid any problems.

Although I've found that 1.10 is unable to decrypt cccam 2.3.0 which is used by some providers, so personally I had to use 1.20 to ensure I could access cccam 2.3.0.
