    Optimize oscam

    Hello folks. I started with not knowing what card sharing is and now i am a oscam userand sill learning.

    Basically i have managed to config my oscam so it works good on using it as an cccam client. Like connecting me to satlover server with oscam.

    My question is if anybody here who might have an idea or if you see any wrong code i have or a better code or any thing that might bee good to have.

    Currently my reciever (Istar Korea 2000HD0) support oscam Version 1.00-unstable_svn Rev. 5395

    oscam.cfg

    [global]
    nice = -1
    WaitForCards = 1
    preferlocalcards = 1
    lb_mode = 0
    lb_save = 150
    logfile = /tmp/oscam.log
    maxlogsize = 20
    Saveinithistory = 1
    clienttimeout = 20

    [monitor]
    Port = 0
    NoCrypt = 127.0.0.1,192.168.0.0-192.168.255.128
    AULow = 120
    monlevel = 4

    # web interface

    [webif]
    httpport = 7070
    httpuser = mypassword
    httppwd = mypassword
    httpallowed = 0.0.0.0-255.255.255.255
    httprefresh = 10
    #httpdyndns = host.dyndns.org

    [dvbapi]
    enabled = 1
    boxtype = dreambox
    User = DVBApi
    AU = 1
    pmt_mode = 4

    #[cccam]
    #port = 40000
    #version = 2.1.4
    #build = 1234
    #ignorereshare = 1
    #reshare = 2

    oscam.server

    [reader]
    label = satlover
    protocol = cccam
    device = satlovererver,satloverport
    user = my user
    password = my password
    group = 1
    cccversion = 2.1.1

    oscam.user

    [account]
    User = DVBApi
    Group = 1
    au = 1
    #Pwd = dreambox

    #[account]
    #User = dummy
    #Pwd = dummy
    #IDENT = 0B0F:0
    #Group = 1
    #au = tk

    Questions?
    1. DO i need
    WaitForCards = 1
    preferlocalcards = 1 (This means my internal card?)

    2.
    If i am idle for some hours, i lose connection with server and have to restart oscam or the reader. Can i fix this with ccckeepalive = 1 ?

    If any of you have a good idea or see any bad code to optimize my oscam i thank you

    glad to be a oscam user

    Re: Optimize oscam

    I can now confirm by my self that the ccckeepalive = 1 will keep you connection to the server alive when you are idle for some hours. I have tested it and it works good with the oscam version i have.

    Still hope anybody can tips for optimizing my oscam config

        Re: Optimize oscam

        The box i am using is a closed source box. And it is really not so popular like dreambox, vu etc... So i just have to wait for the producer to release a new firmware. With this oscam version everything is working well for me now but i am new to oscam and welcome any tip for optimizing it. I think this thread will be god for any new oscam user.

          where do you put the "ccckeepalive = 1" line? In oscam.cfg/ser/user or dvbapi?

              Re: Optimize oscam

              You will have to hope that a new firmware gets produced for your receiver as Oscam do not support any versions below the new 1.20 stable, as for optimisation have a look on the oscam board for preconfigured files for your particular card

                  oscam.server
                  for ANY remote reader you configure, if you would to keep connection alive write the keepalive.
                  This is also useful if you are under nat and don't receive for some times the anything, it send keepalive message to keep opened the connection. And obvioulsy, if remote server close it, oscam reopen the connection.

                  an example:
                  [reader]
                  label = satlover
                  protocol = cccam
                  device = satlovererver,satloverport
                  user = my user
                  password = my password
                  group = 1
                  cccversion = 2.1.1
                  ccckeepalive = 1

                  Remember: any opened connection generates data traffic, and uses the resources of the decoder (machine time, memory and bandwidth) then avoid having too many connections always open if you have a poor connection or a pay-per-use connection, or if you have many services active on your device.

                    I have an sh4 box (dual system spark and enigma2). In some enigma2 images there's oscam 1.20 that's is more stable than 1.10

                        Hi,
                        there is also a keepalive parameter in the oscam.user. Do anyone know the function of this?

                          I belive it is for keeping the connection between server and client alive.

                            Right, used to keep alive client connection, but this parameter can be applied only with a newcamd server.
