    Newcamd config in win pc

    Hi
    I have configured my Oscam and have contact with my cards.

    What i have understood is that you need to configure the newcamd to be able to be connected ouside my Lan if i have a dreambox placed in my summer cottege and whant this one to be connected to my windows pc which are working as a server with oscam including configured my router with a dyndns configuration/account.

    Could anyone tell me how te newcamd etc. should look like in the server file or what i'm missing, since i cant find any related topic in the forum or i dont understand if there is any related items which could solve this issue?

    My Newcamd:
    port = 10011@0B00:1F1F1F;10003@0500:023200,023210,023220, 023230,023240,FFF510
    key = 0102030405060708091011121314
    keepalive = 1
    mgclient = 1

    My cws in the dreambox:

    #CWS_MULTIPLE = Mydream.dyndns.org. 10011:10003 Avatar 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 wan Dream.tvserv
    CWS = Mydream.dyndns.org 10011 Avatar 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 wan Dream.tvserv
    CWS = Mydream.dyndns.org 10003 Avatar 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 wan Dream.tvserv
    CWS_CONNECT_TIMEOUT = 20
    CWS_INCOMING_PORT = 12000
    CWS_DEBUG_PORT = 12001
    CWS_KEEPALIVE = yes

    My User config:
    user = Avatar
    pwd = password1
    caid = 0B00,093E
    monlevel = 4
    au = 1
    group = 1,2

    Re: Newcamd config in win pc

    Did you set up port forwarding (virtual server) for the two ports ?
    Of course, it must be done on the server side router.
    In any case , in order to check client/server config files, you can do your tests inside your home lan.
    In this way you don't need port forwarding but must use local ip addresses instead of dyndns host names.

        The simplest method is to use the ping, and you can see there is a connection or not,

          Post all of your oscam config files (hide sensitive data !) or, alternatively, post oscam startup log, just to check there are no errors in configuration.

              We can't tell from what you have posted if you have done your homework well.
              You could have everything perfect but the card upside-down or a cable unplugged and we would never know.
              Debugging was made just for troubleshooting errors.
              Set debug level to 255 and post your oscam.log file.

                  There should be an entry saying:
                  Code:
                  newcamd: initialized (fd=6, port=***x, crypted)
                  From this log we can't see that newcamd protocol is initialized.
                  Try with a more verbose log and redirect it to a file (oscam.log)
                  Also, during debug, try to connect with a client, so that we can check if client's request is reaching server.

                    which cards exaactly, you're to trying to me it work?
                    because i see that you have defined in oscam/newcamd caids 0b00 and 0500. and in your user config is 0b00 and 093e.
                    and for your first question, no you dont need to use newcamd protocol to put your server outside, you can use cccam, camdxx aswell.
                    if you want to put it out you need to allow ports in your router as stated above. but for you, i'll reccomend to you use a cccam protocol, then you dont need to set up a new port for every other caid, you can use one port for many caids. and then dont define ident and provids. try it first like this. hope this help a bit.

                      Hi
                      I have two cards one for C-more (former canal digital) and Visat.

                      Now the following questions.
                      1. how do you set the debug level to 255?
                      2. how should the cccam config look like?
                      3. should i not use the newcamd protocoll?
                      4. the lines you put above is that for the cccam and if should i add a new line int config with this?

                      5. below is the latest log with change to ip instead of dyndns in cws file.

                        Re: Newcamd config in win pc

                        Ok, oscam seems to be running ok: newcamd is initialized for both cards and is waiting for requests; webif is initialized too and that comes good in troubleshooting.
                        In the end of your log I can't see any client requests ... I guess your problem is on client side.
                        Let's try this:
                        from the command line of a second pc in your lan try the command
                        Code:
                        telnet 192.168.1.18 10011
                        or
                        Code:
                        telnet 192.168.1.18 10003
                        You should see a short answer with garbage characters ... push enter again and the session will close.
                        In the meantime, if you open your browser on hxxp://192.168.1.18:9999, you should see:
                        Code:
                        client connected to 10011 port
                        Connection closed to client
                        anonymous disconnected from 192.168.1.***
                        Try these tests and let us know.

                        IMHO newcamd is a good protocol to use in wan: it's encrypted (safe), it's light (less traffic comparing with cc*am) and it's reliable (tcp based).
                        I wouldn't recommend camd35 because, even if it faster, it's udp based ... it means that if a packet is lost no retries will be done to retransmit the packet and you will have a freeze that lasts many seconds (you have to wait for the following ecm/cw).
                        On the contrary, if you have a tcp based protocol, in the worst case you will have a short glitch/pixellation, but it's likely you won't even realize of the retransmission.

                          I have solved the problem. but the clients are connected as long as they are connected to my lan, but when i change my configuration (outside my lan) to use them via the dyndns i am getting this result in the log:
