How to share local card(s) with CCcam & NewCS

As long as cccam can read the card it should share automatically.

I didn't try yet.
I have two regular subscriptions to two different providers, my idea is to share the two cards in the apartment and with my neighbor.
What kind of CCcam.cfg do I have to setup in order to work properly ?

I've got a Technomate TM600 so bear that in mind.

On my box I have CCCam plus newcs running. newcs automatically shares the card it is reading (as a "N" line), and in the cccam.cfg file I have a "N" line to connect to newcs.

So first, configure newcs. Edit the file
/var/tuxbox/config/newcs.xml

Near the bottom is a section
<newcamdserver>

In here you can see the following sections.
<user>
<name>TM600</name>
<password>dummy1</password>
<hostname>localhost</hostname>
<au>on</au>
</user>


Change these if you want.

Now configure cccam.cfg. Add a new N line on your boxes to connect to newcs.

N: 127.0.0.1 15000 TM600 dummy1 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

If you have done all this correctly, the card should appear fine in cccam.

You can also open a port on your router to allow your neighbour to connect directly to your newcs share (search for <newcamd_port> in newcs.xml). Or just let them connect via cccam, it works just the same.

Yes I know, it's just how I have mine set up (cccam on the TM has trouble reading some cards, newcs does not).

As long as you can read the card ok, it should be as simple as just using basic F and C lines on the client boxes.

What you mean with READ THE CARD ?
The cards are working in the box, I can watch all the channels...

On the TM, there is a bug in the firmware that stops certain cards being read properly. So to get round that, you read it with newcs, and connect cccam to the newcs newcamd server (if all that makes sense).

If cccam is reading the card ok for you, the other clients should also read it fine. Just add F lines in the box with the card, and connect the client boxes with appropriate C lines.

Eg,

F: box1 pass1
F: box2 pass2

And on the clients
C: box_with_card_ip port box1 pass1
C: box_with_card_ip port box2 pass2

You already have the client machines on your LAN connected don't you, do they see the card ok?

No joy just adding C & F lines...
Probably I have to link the card to the CCcam in a certain way...
Just checked and they are not working with CCcam, they works with OSCam 3.58

What if you try newcs? If that works my solution above will work. I never really looked in detail into getting the card working properly in cccam as I knew there was a bug that prevented it.

What card are you trying to share (I'll see if I can make sense of ****** and try and find a solution).

All I've ever seen on Sky UK cards is to read it using newcs (I have a Sky UK card).

PS. I found this on another forum. You will need the box key from your Sky box (give me a few mins on that and I'll get back to you).

1) install NewCS 1.66 & CCcam
2) now ftp to your dreambox and find "newcs.xml" (in /var/tuxbox/config/). and edit it with this example config (adding boxid from above)

I found this as well.


To get the box key.

1- first let see the box serial ( that u get from menu ) is 0085642512

2- we delete first 2 numbers 00 and we got 85642512

3- we open browser on : Hex-Dec Converter Hex-Dec Converter

Now we have this number : 51ACD10 But BOXID format is : 00 11 22 33

Then we are missing a number, we refill with zero "0" and we got 05 1A CD 10

Bingo : this is your box ID
Now in newcs.xml just add line in reader configuration :
<boxkey>051ACD10</boxkey>
