    DyDNS security?

I have been reading that a lot of people are using dydns 'for security' to hide their true IP address when running a card server. (admittedly on a very long 'howto on another forum).

Have people not heard of a 'ping' or 'tracert' before?

That is not 100% true mate. Dynamic dns adress only helps other to not remember your public actual ip adresse numbers, but a web adresse that is redirected to your public adresse. Normaly your public adresse changes after some time and therfore everybody use dyndns adresse so it is allways updated with you newest public ip adresse.

      hi wineguy

and fyi: in the past we've had also some interesting threads about this - use the search function for eg 'risks of cardsharing' and 'ip address' or so - you should find some things

as said: ok, some methods are more safe than others, but I'm sure (= really sure) when 'they' want to find you, they can (also already said before here somewhere: not likely possible, because a lot of cooperation between government, providers, ... would be necessary).
