    Keepalive for cccam

Hi. In oscam i could set parameter keepalive to keep the connection to server. I cant find what parameter i should use with cccam.cfg. Same, or what?

There is no keepalive parameter used in CCcam, if its for a Peer and you are worried just keep the peers dns or ip at the end of the F line so only He/She can use

It sounds you use cccam as client.
Cccam keeps the connection and if it looses the connection, it tries to reconnect automaticly (e.g. if the connection gets lost because of too heavy server usage). Sometimes this can last even a view minutes.

        Re: Keepalive for cccam

Problem here is that cccam after some hours losses connection to server and have to reedit cccam.cfg in order to establish the connection back again or restart receiver(dreambox). I had this problem with a receiver supporting oscam. I fixed it by using keepalive parameter but hwo come there is nothing for this on cccam,, weird...?

          Are you sure?
I use sometimes a CCcam running on linux (pc) and I can read line by line what it actually does and sometimes it looses connection and I can read exactly these words "keepalive failed".
Now I'm not home and I can't read my cfg...

Have you tried a different cccam version?

I remember oscam thread: the problem is the long inactivity time, isn't it?
Is also possible that server kill any idle user or a general NAT/router problem.
Nat is the worst concept of IP. If your router is setted to has a quickly tcp connection timeout your idle connection will be truncated.

Try connecting your modem and dreambox directly, without any other devices connected and NAT and firewall functions of your router disable.

              Re: Keepalive for cccam

Hmm it might be network problem but i think it is config problem. Cccam should ask for reconnection if disconnected. So you guys sure that keepalive function is build in to cccam? Using cccam ver 2.3.0.. Where do i find the log file for cccam btw, maybe i can find something there...?

                Re: Keepalive for cccam

I don't know real cccam, I know mgcamd and cccam214 for sh4 devices that' a modified version of mgcamd, and keepalive is default configuration.

Can you enter into decoder using telnet? In case you can, stop cccam and restart it using telnet, you can have a "live" log.

                  Re: Keepalive for cccam

The receiver is not mine but a friend of mine. I can do a telnet session no problem, but is there really no log file for cccam? Oscam have logfile showing everything that is happening live or ina logfile. I cant belive that there is no cccam.log file somewhere... Cisko do you mean that if telnet and restart i wil see everything that is happening with telnet session?

                    Re: Keepalive for cccam

Yes, you can config CCcam for logging, bu keep in mind that log files are able to fullfill all decoder's memory. Read this How-to _http://www.satlover.eu/forum/cccam/38809-how-to-create-cccam-log.html

Yes enter in telnet and restart CCam by telnet. You can view all messages printed to stdout and sterr.

If it's working exist a little bit complicated method to move these message directly into a text file.

                    Commands are:
                    Code:
                    cccam > cccam_stdout
                    cccam 2> cccam_stderr
ccam is the name of your cccam binary, change it according to your binary name.
cccam_stdout and cccam_sterr are 2 name for file, you can use your preferred name.
Remember ">" writes info of stdout, "2>" writes info of stderr
