    config & prio file

while browsing the forum i saw a post talking about linking your cccam config file to your .prio file

unfortunatley I cannot find it now (yes i have tried the search facility)

can anyone let me know how and why this has to be done or where the post is explaining it (i think it was a satlover post)

    thanks

    Re: config & prio file

its depending om how old/version your cccam are
new cccams you dont have to do anything cos many things are set to default.
just put the prio file in var/etc or etc if you running an image with enigma2

      Re: config & prio file

I am running xcam for an icecrypt s3500 and get a lot a freezes, not sure it it would help but it seemed like you manually added the location of your prio file into the configuration file (the file which you put the clines into)

Sorry I am all new to this so I may be getting it all wrong

Prio, if you edit file the right way, is very important, can choose better cards and reduce freezing.
Talking about it would take very long, every situation is different, we can begin reading this:

          Hi iiizootiii,

Please have a look at the link below. There is so much discussed about the prio files almost 12 pages.

          Hope its helpful

But even the best cfg or prio doesn´t help if your server is "overloaded" by to many users. Even the best configuration for cccam won't help in that case.

You can configure a bit (e.g. prio IDs) so that your ecm-request is answered a bit faster by a specified card.

The Server's stability is the main factor of quick channel opening. If the server quality is low, too many users, slow internet connection and no good cards then it will be slow and subscribers will see many glitches, freezes and reboots.

                Re: config & prio file

Prio files, ignore lists and channel configs are an old red herring promoted by oversubscribed pay servers to shift the blame for issues arising from overutilisation.

In the case of CCCAM they have no application and are ignored in recent versions anyway.

I stopped using any of them years ago and noticed no difference what-so-ever. No. I lie, I actually saw an improvement.

Only ever worked in the good old key days when you could prioritise which channels should use whioch keys first.

Now-a-days receivers are so fast and well spec'd that these old methods are superfluous to requirements.

I respect your opinion, but I completely disagree...
I think it depends on your experiences, completely different perhaps from Central and Southern Europe satellites...
With SK* IT or Eurosport (on Hotbird) it's essential to choose right Caid.
There are perhaps better ways to choose cards to use, but this is quick and often it fixes problems...

A correct prio.cfg has effect on switching time. OK, a view seconds perhaps but the best caid defenitly helps.

when i use prio file for cccam it seems that the decode of the channel becomes more slow. Does it really works or it's just a placebo?

priority list is not a default file!
every server have different type of cards, caids, provids
you need to set it up for providers you want to watch
that can happened that some provider have on caid 0500
3,4,5... different provids, if you define that you need 043800
he get this one first and other is ignoring, so it means lower ecm time.

all you need is to know your cards and then you can set it like this
                            Code:
                            priority
                            P: caid:provid:sid #comment
                            ignore
                            I: caid:provid:sid #comment
let say you've got sly uk 0963 and upc 0d02
                            you'll write

                              Another question:

How do you have your cccam.cfg configurated? I only put the cline and nothing more. But when i analyse the original cfg file there are a lot of things to configure. Is there a way to optimize cccam.cfg file for client only?
