    CCcam.cfg

Hi guys im looking for a bit of help with a c-line. I have a dreambox 500s connected to a 1metre motorised dish, nabilosat image with CCcam and sbox. I have a c-line that i share with a good friend from a private server to recieve 28.2 east. My question is can i also input another free c-line to my cfg file without interupting my original c-line, and more importantly will my original be totaly safe from being seen from anyone else. cheers guys for youre help

You just copy the 2nd C line under the first one. You can have lots of C lines in cccam.cfg.

As long as you do not open up the ports that are used to access FTP or the web interface of the dreambox, there should be no way for others to see the C line.
      Technomate TM600 + 1m motorised dish (TM2300 motor).

        Hi Tony,

Can you tell me what FTP stands for?
Just curious to know what exactly this is/does?
        Cheers.

File Transfer Protocol. It's a way of copying files over the network to the receiver.

They should be closed already. It would be a little daft if a router came pre-configured with open ports (I bet it does happen though).

You can test using one of the web based port scanners if you want. I haven't used any of them so cannot recommend though. Best bet would be to get a friend to test using a port scanner application (I usually use download.com if I want an app to do that sort of thing).

                Tony.

I think that depends on the quality of the c-lines. In theory you can have any number, but I would say around 5 or 6 should be ok.

However, if you receive the same card to many c-line, could cause some discomfort

Is it possible that anyone steals my CCcam.cfg from remote PC? I heard it is possible. How to protect it?

                            1. Set a username and password for webinfo in CCcam.cfg

                            WEBINFO USERNAME : <username>
                            WEBINFO PASSWORD : <password>

                            2. Change your root password on the receiver

                            3. Don't tell anyone the passwords

Also in addition to previous message I can advise you to close ports 21, 16001 if you are behind a router. In this way you'll secure the FTP server on your box.
