    Help on unscrambling channels

    Hi,

I'm very new to card sharing. I recently bought a box that already had channels working all i needed to do was connect via ethernet and to my TV. The guy who I had bought the box off has had his server disconnected and thus scrambling my channels.

Im in UK and the box is a Sky Open Box X5 HD PVR.

What do I need to do to get my channels back?

    Thanks

You need a cline from a reliable source eg http://www.satlover.eu/forum/satlove...embership.html

And if you don't know how to enter the cline into your box there are tutorials in the opebox
section or you can create another thread and ask how.

The CCcam.cfg file with the CCcam settings can be edited by FTPing to your Box.
The file can be found in box /etc/CCcam.cfg
Edit CCcam.cfg file, insert new working c-line and save.
Is my post useful for you? Please press sigpic

As a satlover forum member you may use a free satlover server c-line to unscamble your channels for 1 day.
Or you may buy a premium membership for 15$ per month and get a constant c-line from premium server.
Or when you will earn more than 100 messages on forum you may ask mr. Satlover for a personal free c-line.
How to put the line to your box you may find in a respective thread.
        Simple.

The openbox/skybox are not open linux boxes they are closed and unlike DM's,
Vu's and Technomates you can't use this method there are ftp software tool
available for the other openbox/skybox but not the X5 even the channel list
format is not compatible because it uses a .bin file format and not the usual .dbs
          that the others use.

That's how you do it on an Enigma2 box, the Openbox X5 is not Enigma2 though. In fact, from what I've read, FTPing the X5 is considered problematic at best if not impossible.

microchick posted a good tutorial that should help you MichaelTHFC:

openbox X5 this is not the original receiver firm openbox, but the hardware is good and many users have praised the work of this model, so you need to properly configure and using cline not be a problem, and has to be configured via usb and ftp.

That link of Microchick from above will do the job for your receiver @MichaelTHFC!!!
That rec is not E2 so USB stick is a must!

                cheers

                  hi madoc

we all have this problem, has been mentioned sometimes here on different places - pretty sure satlover knows about the problem and is looking for a solution - we'll just have to wait
