thank you is a good alternative to overwrite and delete with ftp but i suspect that emu is read only and packed with image so i wonder will this work or better leave it this way and not maybe mess up image tying this?

No, I don't think gemini has ever packed an emu as read only ... maybe you couldn't delete/overwrite it because the process was running.
If you kill the process (or set a different default softcam) you should be able to delete it.
Don't be afraid to mess up an image for such a minimal issue ... after all you can always reflash it (or flash a different image) !

You can use the old framebuffer image and maxvar.
Maxvar is betterfor a dm500s because you give it more space for pluggins and others.

I fully agree mate, maxvar flavor is absolutely the best choice for a dm500s

ok then guys i will see how it works this image with emu restriction described and how it works at management of space for this box .

as wrote before i had darkstar 2 so i will give some time for this newly installed and then if needed i will consider openpli as suggested
