i don't think there are a limit
but keep it as low as possible
its more depending on the upload you have from your internet provider

Well i guess DM800 has the same configuration as VU+Duo so it can support 60 peers ( 50 to avoid any freezes after).

The theoretical limit depends on the tcp/ip stack implementation of your box (typical parameter is net.ipv4.netfilter.ip_conntrack_max and set to "many thousands").
In real world, the limit is given by the bandwidth you have.
