    Cs p2p

Hope this is the right place to ask:

What is this P2P card sharing I've come across?
    Seems dodgy? Is it "legit"?
Seems like the shares have to come from somewhere.

I think i would also not use it, but not because its not good, i think the idea itself might actually work well but just remember the Filesharing History when P2P filesharing got to the people it was very popular and save but Today nobody is using it anymore because everybody know how unsecure it is.

So my opinion, the more popular this P2Pcs gets the faster the cs era how it is right now will end

          maybe you have being unlucky
          but p2p aren't unsecure
its just the matter of have the right trackers
and watch out what files you download

I don't think of being unlucky, but if i got it right there is no option to choose what tracker you want (this is not torrent) or which files are the right ones because a p2p cant be 100% good as long as every single person can add there files to it and its not really difficult to change the file size. Also you never know what kind of information can or will be send through the p2p network. There are manny sites you can find (blogs, news sites etc) which will show you that P2P file-sharing is indeed unsecure.

They claim not to be a payserver, yet what do you have to do to get access? Pay!
I think they're just a bunch of scammers and I'd stay well clear.

Do you really have to pay for it? i didn't even saw that on there website, i thought it is free, but if so then it's more like Usenet.

Thanks for that link Vimmers. Very interesting!

                  They've now upped their prices:

"We have been working behind the scenes on a new pricing model that will allow people with any budget to join our system. Thus we are proud to announce our new pricing scheme.

                  3 Months License: 49.99 Euro
                  12 Months License: 99.99 Euro
                  Lifetime License: 149 Euro"

So we've gone from 25euro for lifetime to 50euro for 3 months!

                  Scammers?

If walks like a duck, looks like a duck and quacks like a duck...

So in other words. Either pay the same prices for us as you would a payserver, or give us 149 euro for a "lifetime" subscription.
Hmmmm, how long is a lifetime I wonder?
Long enough until they get enough subscriptions and do a runner?

What's interesting about the system is the reports of how glitch free (relatively) it is.
Folks who are much more experienced than me say p2p is the future of card-sharing...but not the way this outfit seem to be running it.

Just as well, my openbox was listed as not being suitable for this system. (because of closed linux?)

That's exactly what i think too because the idea behind it is actually quite interesting, people will defiantly come up with p2p but in a better way than this and surely free

I hope so, Locan, I started the satellite bug when kuhn and other giants were releasing their code for free for the joy of helping others.

I fear those days may be gone...

...then I look at forums like this and my fears are lowered!

@locan: Very few good things come for free and Satlover is one of them. If someone is going to take all the hassel and hard work to create a p2p server it will also depend how many people are sharing it like p2p some of the websites are asking you for some upload ration of 50% or 60%.
