    Box Freezing

Hi there i am still very new to this game and i have managed to set up my dreambox DM500s, i have also port forwarded it to my router. I am using a Satlover free CLine (thanks very much) but unfortunately it freezes constantly making anything unwatchable. I live in a very small village miles from my exchange so consequently my speeds are generally ping 60ms D/L 1.1mbs U/L 0.36mbs. Has anyone got any ideas how i can help to solve this problem. How can i allocate more bandwidth to the dreambox or am i missing something fundamentally obvious. I have followed all the tutorials on this site about setting up the Dreambox. It is an old enigma1 dreambox i hasten to add but all the the FTA channels work fine.

    Thanks in advance

free lines will aways freeze due to much usage, the best thing you can do is post useful posts as this will gain you more access to more lines, more posts will give you your own personal line in the end, much better.
or take a sub for a month to try.

      hi

I'm afraid there's not much (fundamental) you can do - perhaps trying to set prio in your box (best to search here on eg prio or config files - db section - personally I don't know exactly how this works) - the freeservers aren't very stable - you get other lines of server 3 if you gain more useful posts (10 and 30) ; if you get enough posts (50) you'll get access to server 4, which is a bit more stable than server 3.
You can always try entering another cline, could be a bit better - also in peak hours/weekens freeservers can get overloaded.

Your ping of 60ms should be enough and isn't the problem.

if you got a motorised setup try a less popular package digitab or tring or jsc sports if not try a diferent c line 1 at a time

Thanks for all your advice guys, i will look into these very helpful comments. From what i had read i didn't really think there was a problem with my speeds. If i was to pay for a premium server would that be more stable. I assume that this would be less people accessing it hence quicker. Unfortunately i only have access to sly at the moment but might consider investing in a motorised system (if i can convince the wife)

yes, it'll be more stable, as you receive your own cline(s) then.

About the motorised dish: same problem here with the wife ...

rikksow, please do some reading in english sections as a lotta talk already on this subject, as we only get bombarded with the same answers, i know you new but reading is the key to your answers, dont want to many threads on repeat subjects,
always best to get sub for best stable lines.

If internet is very slow have you thought about mobile broadband?
if you get a good mobile signal it is always an option.
