how to get boxkey for sky

can any body help i have a white sky box with white card installed and i can not power it up is it possible to get boxkey on the back is a 16 digit barcode number the first 8 are letters the second 8 are numbers is it possible to get boxkey with this or not

I found this on another forum

Find your sky serial number in the menu. In the Sky Menu there should be a 10 digit serial number. DELETE THE FIRST 2 Digits and use a Dec to hex converter which will result in 7 digits hex. Add a 0 to the front and you got your BOXKEY!.

You can get the Boxkey from the 16 digit NDS number printed on the bottom of the box, But please do not and i repeat do not use an ONLINE boxkey generator.

You can use windows calculator by putting it into scientific mode click view tick programmer select decimal enter the 10 figure number and clickhex this will be your boxkey

No, you don't use windows calculator since it'll calculate wrong hex key, since it doesn't put 0 zeroes in front of the key!!! Use other apps from ******. In front of that boxkey needs to be 0!

procedure generally is like this:

No matter what method you use if you wish to open any premium
content, Sports, Movies, HD for example, you're gonna need a boxkey to
enter into your config file. This is created by converting the Sky box serial number to hexidecimal. Take the serial number from the hidden engineers menu and if its less than 11 numbers then insert a 0 to make it up to 11 numbers. If its only 9 numbers then insert two zeros.

For example , your serial number might be 1202275834
So thats 10 numbers, so insert a 0 making it 01202275834, 11 numbers.

Now convert that to hexidecimal, 072A86FF. That is your boxkey. This is specific to your Sky box, and therefore specific to your card. You need the box to get the serial number, there is no other way to get it !

Beware of using Windows Calculator as you cannot insert the leading zero and therefore it will calculate it wrong !

Inserting the boxkey into NewCS is different to the way its inserted into CCcam.
In NewCS it has no spaces, for example :-

<boxkey>072A86FF</boxkey>

In CCcam you specify the reader first then the boxkey and it has a space after each byte, for example :-

BOXKEY: /dev/sci0 07 2A 86 FF

That's it. Other infos mean that you need your card to employ different reader cams in order for it to decode and optionally forward to others through Conditional access module CAM protocols!!!

I read triad comments on HD availability in EU, but in latin america like 58 is not, why is that happening?

First go to your $ky receiver and go into the system menus. Find the 'System Details' section then note down the first 10 digits from the 'Serial Number' part.

You now need to convert this 10-digit number to hexadecimal. You can do this here:

The 8-digits given by this conversion are your boxid. If there are only 7-digits, add a zero to the front of the 7-digits.

Add the 8-digit number to your oscam.server file under the [reader] section e.g.:

boxid = 12345678

I'm surprised you are having trouble with the boxid though, OSCam doesn't usually need one. Have you tried removing the entire boxid line from your oscam.server file completely?

same problem mate

i have update 2 days ago in orgianal box.

because before the update was there was not such a message with boxid ok.

now I get wrong boxid several transmitters no longer walk.

Have you tried deleting the entire code line e.g. remove boxid = 12345678 altogether from your oscam.server file? Put a hash tag in front of it i.e.

# boxid = 12345678

Save the file and reboot OSCam. See if that helps.

Failing that, it sounds as though you might have had an update go onto the card with the rumoured new card pairing method being introduced by $ky.

Oscam has never needed the $ly UK boxkey as it calculates itself, if you are having problems then it sounds like you have been hit with the new pairing procedure
