    Network Settings for dydns server

    Hi all

Im struggling with the correct set up to link to my dydns server. Pli Jade3, DM500S and a noob lol

    Currently I have the following:

    Enable Network - checked
    DHCP - unchecked

    IP 192.168.x.x (dreambox)
    Netmask 255.255.255.0
    Gateway 192.168.x.x (router)

Nameserver is my problem? I have a static IP and S*Y internet. I dont know what to put here! My sky IP, my static IP, my dydns IP (how do I know what this is?) Port foward tool is telling me its 216.146.36.xx an I can connect to the internet for updates etc and log in via FTP but CCcamInfoPHP shows me as off line

I have opened port 12*** on my router to allow it through the firewall and have changed the the files within Cccaminfo to reflect the new port number.

What else do i need to do? Any help much appreciated.

    Regards

    Paul

go into your dreambox and setup dyndns also you dm500 ip has to be static to do this, then you can give out the dyndns address which is forwarded to your dm500 to ppl who you want to share ...

if your router can do it for you, use dyndns directly with it instead of dm.

            try first to check dhcp
            then reboot your dreambox
now u should be able to see the nameserver
now u can change the db ip back without problems
but what i know the nameserver should be the same as router ip

Re: Network Settings for dydns server

I would just let the Router handel that.
If your using the Sky Supplied router login to that.

Under the Advanced section is Dynamic DNS Setup.

Put a Tick in the box Use Dynamic DNS
                Enter the service proider as
                Code:
                _www.dynadns.org
                Of course excluding the "_"

Enter your DynaDns HOST Name (the one you registeed) and your Username and password.

Now your External IP Address will have the hostame you chose.
You can now go into the Security and Services sections to add the PORTS you want to open up, and lastly into the Firewall Rules section to add who can access these ports, and then point these to your internal IP Address.

                Hope this helps.
