Dreambox Receiver is by far the best receiver in the market ...
More important, you need to check which type you need. If you want to watch encrypted channels, then you need the correct box, or encryption card & cardsharing
      helped use "Thanks"

The best, I think, its the dreambox 8000HD but iis very expensive. In my country it cost around 750 euros.

But, firstable, as easydigital said, we need to know what you need.

I personally prefer the Dreambox (8000 - 800 or 800se) but the Vu+Duo and the latest Clarke Tech ET-9000 are also very good Linux Receivers, and like the DB8000 HD they both have two Tuners, but I believe they are cheaper than the DB 8000 HD.

A Spiderbox 7000/9000HD is good non-linux based box to learn about c/s as it is very easy to use, plus has the added bonus of the free gift (in built c/s channels). More expensive than some boxes though.

Totally agree. I have since dec 2009, and is very very good for a simple user that dont have much time to ''study" the linux box.

                Service+ is great.

I don't agree with you mate here...they are cheaper yes, but definetely not better than the original. As the name implies a clone is always a Clone!!.

Here is an interesting issue -> almost 80% or more of the electronic products nowaday are "Made in PRC" or "Made in China" (PRC- Peoples Republic of China) - and it's true that the standard electronic components of the clone are not quite good (capacitors, resistors, standard IC's) but the clone STB work's like the original one and regarding the price - nowadays you can buy almost 3 clones in the price of 1 original - so think like this - Would the 1 original DM have the same durability / life time like the other 3 clones life? - I don't think so, and this economical issue (not paying a great amount) make that the chinese clones cover, invades and win in selling in a great part of the STB market.
Those who's can afford from the beggining an original - good to them, but myself and others - we are pleased whith this "clones" and feel to made a good choise, and if this will be obsolete we still can buy another 1, 2 units whith the newest versions - all included at the same initial price of course... and not feeling sorry for what we have bought.
