    Dreambox and vpn

    Hello

I would like to connect my Dreambox on the internet through an PPTP VPN.
Anybody now how to do that ? Is there any pptp client plugins for my 500s ?

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Dreambox and vpn

Do you have a router that you supports VPN tunnels (not pass-through)? That would be the easiest way to do it (a lot of Netgear routers do this, you configure the router at both ends to connect to each other with keys and they set up the VPN every time). You can also get software VPN clients which will then connect to the router so you can access the whole of your home network securely.

Yes I did some test with my Linksys router with DDWRT. It works great but I would like to keep my router to share internet (not through VPN) between my computers and only connect my dreamboxes through VPN...

Why? Trying to configure a router to just let VPN traffic through to a dreambox is overly complicating things.

How can I tell my router to just redirect packet from my dreamboxes through VPN and not packet from PC ?

No solution for now. I will do some other tests when I will have time.

Is not at all, it depends of the router capabilities

Housy01 check please if you have this option in your router :

Use default gateway on the remote network, professional routers like Cisco have this.

Linksys is now owened by Cisco, as far as i know, so it may have it.

If you find such an option just uncheck it or turn it off, and there you go.

You can also just connect dreamboxes to a VPN server, the good news is that Gemini2 5.1 has OpenVPN support.
