how can i make dreambox reboot every day

can any body please explain i have dreambox800hd clone with black hole and enigma2 installed i have read that i can restart dream box every day automaticaly by writing scipt can and body explain what i must but in the script and where i put it it update epg every day now i just want to restart it every day

just run the command crontab -e add this line: 0 0 * * * root reboot this will reboot your box every day at 24h

Like easydigital says you don't need a script, you just need to add in the crontab the line indicated by him.

Just to complete the answer the command must be run using for example DCC.

1. Open Dcc, enter IP and credentials, connect to the box

2. Go to telnet

3. Type this command : crontab -e

4. At the end of the file enter this line : 0 0 * * * root reboot

The last line means that your dreambox will reboot at 00:00 every day

If you want your box to reset at 04:30 AM you just use : 4 30 * * * root reboot

It doesn't work on my GP3 image. When i type "crontab -e" i get an error message: ->
crontab: chdir(/crontabs): No such file or directory
Can someone help me?

I believe there are plug-ins that can do this for you.

About the cronjob, wil it stay resident in the memory when the receiver is fully power off or do we have to put the command line again after a power off?
