If webpage can be made to issue cline to member it would be good idea to use members IP as username. That would be the ultimate track and trace. But I think that this method would lighten the load on the server dramaticaly.

It must be technical possible to do this. As you have to confirm your registration receiving a email with confirmlink to the website.
After confirmation and registration completed receiving one c-line with email would be a possibility.
Same for server 4 when reaching 50 usefull posts.
Personal c-lines still is the best way to avoid posting. It's also the best way to control who's connected. This way if someone passes his personal c-line to someone else, it would be known by mr satlover.

I like also this idea. Would be great if it can be done. But I think it will be a big job, to mail 1000's of active members here.

It's absolutely inacceptable to mess with IP.
I don't think that most of satlovers has a contract with ISP for fixed IP address. Even if your IP is the same for big time it doesn't mean it will be the same tomorrow. And what about 3G internet users?

Re: Admin - Suggestion to protect free c-lines

It will only use your IP that you log in with on that day as username. So people wont post their IP's and Satlover clines all over the internet if it can be traced. If your IP changes at any time your username would still be valid for cline issued as it would only be a username not IP. (and only on your receiver)
They do not have to mail it to you either. It can work like the "Number of posts" boxes at free server page and issue cline in real time. Then only you and Satlover would know what IP was used.

This way there is no list to copy and paste.

I agree 100% with Runmo maybe the only way to stop it is by making the c-lines private, but it may be to time consuming for Mr Satlover and his team to do.

I belive this is not something that can be done over the night. Who know maybe satlover is already working on some kind of system to protect the clines better. However i hope every one can participitate on this thread to help report those who post satlover clines on other site: http://www.satlover.com/forum/site-b...her-sites.html

If it's possible, to do this automatic, i think its a very good idea. Maybe you can ask mr satlover, if he could do it like this?

Me too, I agree 100% that personal clines would be good. Although I'm new here, I find there must be some effort of the users to get something in return ; I hope I can contribute some things here ...
Indeed, nice to know if this works on box or on address IP.
I don't think it's a good idea to use your IP as username.

Given the agility and promptness in which mr. Satlover responds to 2nd server clines...,
I doubt that any of these suggestions will be accepted any time soon!
Also do not know if any of the smods or admins either are in any connection to Mr. Satlover as well??? in order for them to report back on his opinions about these things, as he has no some time to report.

Re: Admin - Suggestion to protect free c-lines

I am sympathetic of the ideas to try to limit the server leakage. I have to go to ****** to look for servers for jsc sports on hotbird every other day and often I see servers from satlover posted on there which probably creates a big burden on those servers. But here is my question

if you are going to assign an ip to a server i.e ip of my laptop, then this server will work only with my laptop? I am using a digital receiver and enter the servers there manually and i think it has a different ip than my laptop. then i will not be able to use the server i got from my laptop because it is associated with my laptops ip and not the ip of my digital receiver? maybe i am misunderstanding things but if you are planning to make a change, which i think is good, you might also want to consider people who are do not have satellite cards to watch the channels.

                        thanks

Re: Admin - Suggestion to protect free c-lines

it is a good idea linking clines to ip but it comes with disadvantage also, example not everybody have a static IP and if theire public IP change the cline wont work then. I believe if there is going to be any solution satlover team have to consider many things.

BUT!!! To everybody who might not know we have an thread named "satlover clines on other site" where we can report users who is posting satlover clines on other sites, result of protecting the clines better then not doing anything.

                            hi duhoki

I already tried some hunting to find cheaters, eventually have found some, but until now they were always already known (post 3). May I ask how do you search, or perhaps some tips are welcome (to me, but probably to the forum here generally). Anyway, thank you for your effort on this.

The reason of why the name you find is always reported is because of good help from satlover members to report every name they find posting satlover server on other site. It is true it is not easy to find name that is not reported already,. When i start the hunting, there was many names to report but time come and go and many reporters reported there is now almost only new users who is getting reported. Just to mention many of the reported names is members of satlover and banned for posting clines on other site. The hunting game is not easy but a almost a most for every member who do want to contribute to satlover forum and the result of better quality on satlover clines for those who is truly satlover members.

What everybody can do when they have the time is doing the following:

                              1. First principle is to report the names you find on your daily satellite forum activity. If you see a member on a forum or any website posting satlover cline report it

                              2. When time come you might want to search for following on search engine(******,yahoo, etc)

                              cccam.satlover.com "port number" like cccam.satlover.com 1111
you will then get hit for the website ****** or any search engine detect that have posted the cline with that port number.

                              3. Some Forums allow you do a search without being registered, so do a search with keyword like cccam.satlover

If any other members have any tips it is welcomed

Just remember the effort you, me and all other members do on this hunting will have the result of better service for all our members on satlover regarding the free servers MR. satlover offer members of satlover..

take care, and play the hunting game when ever you have time for it

edited::: ops.. didn't see your post toby thanx for tips.

i feel its a good start to change the user name and ports as much as you can, like ya did the last 2 days but hopefully in the future we will have like something you can login with your Forum user name and password that would be the best solution i think to prevent others to login. I will try to be also a part of the hunting
