A suggestion to open chat Box in the forum

I hope if there is a chat box in our forum..

,, so members can contact with each other and maybe ask for some help ..

and this chat box will make us so close as a family

and we can exchange some suggestions and information ,,

as i think ..it has some benefits ,,

I hope so if it is possible ..

That would be good for comunity but forum would be more unstable, so Iam against.

I dont know why but from expirience I know that every time someone add chatbox forum crash, until they menage to make it right.

im against the suggestion because everybody have a messenger like icq, yahoo, skype or msn on his computer... i think its the best opinion to put the id or number to his signiture...

Chat box is for say "hello everyone", or thing like that not to make conversation with someone.

But still I think it will not work good for first couple of days before admins make it good.

I would be against it because potentially useful information would be missed by most members not online at the time, instead of being recorded in the forum for reference by all.

Can a forum if problems in the chat to be for what then solved and later nobody access? In other forums mostly just muck is chatted and the performance of the whole board suffers.

In my opinion a chatbox would be usefull on this site.
Off course, some will say only hello, but in general it's a extra tool for direct help between members. Could also be learnfull for the most off us when following or participating in a conversation.
About stability I'm not that technical schooled, but I think with the knowledge from satlover, admins and other staffmembers, it must be possible to keep a good stability with a chatbox on the website.

How about creating an IRC channel? That way we would have a chat and spare the fine resources of this server. There are plenty of IRC servers around the globe, if there is a demand for it we could easily create a #satlover room.

What you say is O.K. but it can be also learnfull if we follow a conversation when itīs written in a forum post. Not only in the moment of a chat, separate for a long time. A chatbox may be a funny thing but it must be moderated 24/7 if it is part of the board!
An IRC channel may be better.
