Suggestion for section Dreambox 800 Clones

I want to seggest moderators, admins and users to make a better visibility by make new threds for this section, coz there a lot of information that are many times by differnt user posted in different threads ( I don't want to think that user a doing this only to make post for counting).

So this is like i suggest to be:

1. Dreambox 800HD-8000HD Sim201 Images - here user can post images for clones with Sim201 card
2. Dreambox 800HD-8000HD Ferrari Images - here user can post new images for clones with Ferrari card
3. Dreambox 800HD-8000HD Skins & Settings - Here you can post new settings and skins (no problem to be used by original and clones)
4. Dreambox 800HD-8000HD Emu, Plugins, Keys - Here you can post Emulators, Plugins, Keys (no problem to be used by original and clones)
5. Dreambox 800HD-8000HD Problems, Tutorials, and something alse i forgot

Other user can make suggestion too, so let's contribute this forum to be much more better

2 principal sections for clones

1/Ferrari SIMs
2/SIM 2.xx

But then if we can have sub forum for EMU Settings ...

it's not easy to understand how to make a choice !
I have a clone of the 500s and want to purchase an HD model but i didn't find a topic who give informations about clones's quality !

There are lots of post about it, the single problems that you will have with DM800 HD and never on the original is that time to time the coolers need to be oiled because they make a strange noise.

The power regulator seems to be as good as the one on the original (DM500s clones had for example much bbbbbbpower regulators than te original ones)

Like I said the single problem that i have with my DM800HD clone is with the coolers that time to time need to be oiled

If you want an HD you've mainly 2 choices to make simple :
The dream dm800 HD but be carrefull about the sim that is inside .
Very good quality of clone for the dm800 and half the price.
If you want another choice is the Vu+
Also a linux operated receiver
Same EMU , good Images.
The Vu+ is not a clone it's for the moment original receiver.

There are lots of post about it, the single problems that you will have with DM800 HD and never on the original is that time to time the coolers need to be oiled because they make a strange noise.

I never had problems with coolers in the dm800.
Thus I have original and clone dm800, can't notice a very big difference in day use.

I agree. Having a clone section with images for download would make this the only forum I'd ever need.

I never had problems with coolers in the dm800.
Thus I have original and clone dm800, can't notice a very big difference in day use.

Wait a little more and you'll see , with the clone coolers, meanwhile buy some oil to be sure

Well I must admit the dm800 get very hot quickly, I but this is a problem even in the originale dm800.

i was very surprised the first time I bought an original.
This temperature was not normale.
But after, Dream Multimedia changed the image or something in the kernel, and then it was more stable.

The temperature of DM 800 is very high if the receiver is on. My DM800 is working for about 1,5 years, without problems. Until now, I don’t hear anybody he has problems with the DM800. The next generation DM 800 se has installed a cooler. The cooler is all the time working. The temperature from Main board is about 40°C all the time.

I have had my clone 800HD for almost 2 years now. On 24/7 with a 320GB internal disk fitted and I guess I have been lucky coz apart from having to find & used patched images it's been the dogs bollox and I love it to bits.

The other great thing about my clone is that if it should die then they're so damned cheap to replace. If I had to buy three over 6 years ( assuming each failed after 2) it would still be cheaper than paying Dream Multimedia's rip off price for the real thing.

Just my opinion.

What I can tell you is that the dm500 clone is a perfect receiver as good as the original wich is no more produced by the DM.
I use it for tests and to get more familiar with linux.
But if you look for a HD receiver, the dm800 clone is not so easy to manage, cause to much models with different sims and different images in order of sim installed.
I would recommand a much more easy and simple and stable and originale hd receiver :

Vu+SOLO for the same price as the dm800 clone.
