    Donation option

I think there should be an option to donate a small amount of money to the site just to show appreciation and contribute to maintaining the forum. Iv looked for one but I cannot find one. Unless your not a premium member you are not paying nothing for the service provided and the admin owes nothing to no one, so it would be nice to have the option to help.

It's not a requirement, its just an option to have, no one will have to contribute anything if they don't want to. I don't pay attention to sponsors because they are irrelevant most of the time. Anyway, it's just an idea.

Yes donation is a good ideea for small amounts, it can be done very easy, and infact there are modules for vbulletin for paypal.

I don't know how effective will be,for my self i find more easy to click on a advertieses time to time to help this forum

It's not the filosofy of satlover to gain money. That's why every member can enjoy free servers. For those who can't wait to have enough posts premium is a good solution.
This money is invested in the servers and website again.
Anyway if someone wants to contribute with amount of his choise, could be a good idea, but don't take for granted you will have faster server access (servers 2 and 1).
Mister satlover is the boss, so you can always send pm concerning this idea of contribution.
And don't forget many of us members contribute with helping eachother in the different sections, and for that the staff is very gratefull to our active members.

        regards

A donation is a donation, i think we all understand that donation is not equal to favour back

Anyway the easy way and simpliest to support with small amounts remains the advertise system.

Runmo I understand exactly what you mean, but uttnls's last post is what i mean. It's up to you. Personally I don't know how this advertising system works, can you explain uttlns?

But satlover run's servers four servers for free, which if you actually calculate how much each package would cost you per month it would total £1000+ a year of tv subscription. He is under no obligation to give any type of service to anyone for free and whereas you can help because you are an expert in certain fields, I wouldn't mind showing my appreciation with "voluntary" contributions without recieving premium status, as that would render the whole point of the donation pointless, since I have to recieve something back....

Nothing will change, just an extra option to the site.

It is very simple you click on any of links marked for example in the corners "Ads by ******" or any other advertise, and by browsing the website from the advertise for a while you just put somwhere between 0.1 and 0.3 euro / dollars in the satlover accounts.

Shortly ****** for example is payed by that specific website for advertise and ****** pays satlover because a user from his website was interested on the advertise.

For more details look for adsense program, and similar ones
