    here we go, anacondama...

from wiki a copy for you:
    ######
    Programme Delivery Control

This article is about PDC/StarText teletext programme listings. For other meanings, see Startext (disambiguation).

Programme Delivery Control (PDC) is specified by the standard ETS 300 231, published by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). This specifies the signals sent as hidden codes in the teletext service, indicating when transmission of a programme starts and finishes.

PDC is often used together with StarText, enabling the user to select a programme to record using specially coded teletext programme listings. The combination of features is often called PDC/StarText

In Germany and some other European countries, the older standard Video Programming System (VPS) is in use. Effectively, the two systems do the same thing and most modern VCRs and stand-alone DVD recorders work with both signals.

In digital TV (see Freeview+), the feature Accurate Recording is based on the PDC specification.

          Re: Help About VPS

Usually VPS is located in data center where the uptime is guaranteed. I have some experience with VPS but don't know how the whole thing with cardservers works. May be box ids are inserted in the emulators so it's not necessary to attach physically the local cards.

I guess so. Imagine you hire VPS in Germany- it would be time consuming to fly to data center and attach the card readers Of course you can setup VPS on your personal computer or use it as a dedicated server, it's not required to be in data center.

                  Re: Help About VPS

In technical meaning there is no difference, every PC could be a server, but it's not recommended to host a server at home because the uptime is not guaranteed - internet connection could drop, electric interruptions may occur, etc.

VPS is pretty cheap already and the guaranteed uptime by provider is 99.9%. You can search for VPS hosting in ****** and check the prices.
