Bermuda CableVision has launched video-on-demand (VOD) services on its home island, including high-definition, standard-definition and 3D streams.
The cableco is the island's largest provider of digital cable TV and is the only supplier of HDTV in Bermuda. It added the VOD service to Bermuda CableVision's digital subscribers last month.
"Bermuda CableVision has distinguished itself by offering high-quality digital television supported by our advanced, island-wide network," said Terry Roberson, general manager of Bermuda CableVision, in a statement. "[Now,] we can offer our subscribers the premium content and advanced services that give us a competitive edge in a growing market."
Bermuda CableVision used Avail-TVN as its VOD vendor. Avail-TVN said its presence in the Caribbean and Latin America has been growing over the past year, and that it now touches digital households in more than 20 markets.
"Years of working successfully with top studios, broadcast and cable network partners has given Avail-TVN the access and expertise required to offer new and premium content to our service provider customers," said Jim Riley, chief revenue officer at Avail-TVN. "We are thrilled to be working with Bermuda CableVision as they expand their VOD service."
