The delayed SES-4 satellite will now launch on January 29th. The initial planned launch was delayed because of problems with Russian rocket launchers. This satellite, the largest-ever in the SES fleet, will be launched by International Launch Services using a Russian Proton M rocket from Baikonur in Kazakhstan.
The satellite and its rocket stands 58 metres tall, and the spacecraft weighs 6,180 kgs. Built by Space Systems/Loral, it is a massive craft with a total of 124 transponders. It will located over the Atlantic Ocean at 22 deg West (338 deg East of London).
