Eurosport is set to leave the DVB-T multiplex in the German city of Bremen on Juy 15, 2010. The vacant channel will be taken by home shopping broadcaster QVC.
Earlier, Eurosport has already left DVB-T multiplexes in other German regions, including Schleswig?Holstein and Bavaria.
Privately owned niche channels seem to have a hard time surviving as free-to-air channels in the German digital terrestrial landscape. Earlier, the news broke that movie channel Tele 5 was leaving the airwaves in Munich and Nuremberg (See Broadband TV News passim).
In addition, the channel is also set to stop digital terrestrial broadcasts in Saarland, Hesse and Schleswig-Holstein.
