Canal+ France will this April offer Conditional Access Modules for reception of the group’s terrestrial pay channels suitable for use with Canal Ready labeled TV sets.
The so-called ‘TNT Canal Ready’ modules are manufactured and marketed by ‘SmarDTV by Strong’. Using the CI Plus technology the CAMs, together with a proper smart card, give access to all the terrestrial premium Canal+ channels (Canal+, Canal+ HD, Canal+ Cinema and Canal+ Sport), the Canal+ Weekend subscription and the full bouquet TNT Canalsat of thematic channels.
The first Canal Ready TV sets will start to appear on the French market, beginning with TV sets by Samsung and other manufacturers to follow.
Until now, only DTT set-top boxes were able to offer the Canal Ready option.
