UK communications minister Ed Vaizey is set to announce plans for the sale of the 800Mhz ‘digital dividend’ spectrum in the first half of next year, according to a Sunday Times report.
Plans for the sale have been delayed because of the timing of May’s general election – the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills was planning on instructing regulator Ofcom to prepare for an auction but could not do so before the end of the last Parliamentary session. Vaizey is expected to make an announcement before Parliament’s summer recess, which starts on July 29.
