NextRadioTVParis’s Commerce Court has selected group NextRadioTV to takeover Paris local channel Cap 24. Rebranded CBFM, the DTT channel broadcast in the Paris region will soon turn into a financial news channel, but keep three hours of local news.
New channel BFM Business, a national version of CBFM, will be available from mid-November and accessible through cable and IPTV platforms, the group has added.
NextRadio TV, which already operates DTT news channel BFM TV and radio station RMC, was prefered to groups Bolloré, AB and Premier Investissement for the channel.
Alain Weill’s group will pay €1.5m to buy the channel and keep a team of 12 persons out of 15. Since Bloomberg TV closed last year, there has been no French-language financial news channel in France.
