Food Network is continuing its European roll-out by securing new launches in the Benelux region and into Cyprus. Food Network launches this week on Telenet's digital TV platform in Belgium.
Cablenet in Cyprus will introduce Food Network to its analogue basic package on July 1, 2010, marking the channel's first launch into the Greek-speaking market. Earlier, Food Network launched on two Dutch cable nets, CAIW and Glashart Media.
"The rollout of Food Network across the EMEA region underscores the worldwide demand for food programming," said Nick Thorogood, MD of Food Network EMEA, in a statement. "We're sure viewers across Belgium, The Netherlands and Cyprus will enjoy the channel's unique blend of inspiring chefs, mouth-watering food and irresistible primetime entertainment."
Food Network's distribution in selected markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa is the result of a joint venture between Scripps Networks Interactive and Liberty Global's Chello Zone.
