WORLD SKIES SES, a division of SES SA (Paris: SESG) (LuxX: SESG), announced that its satellite SES-1ha started its commercial services in the orbital position at 101 degrees west.
Built by Orbital Sciences, SES-1 was successfully launched aboard a Proton rocket ILS-Breeze M last April 24, 2010.
The satellite replaces AMC-2 and AMC-4 in the key orbital position at 101 degrees west over North America and is used for transmission of TV programming in virtually all cable networks in the U.S..
