Cambridge-based IPTV specialist Amino Communications has passed three million set-top boxes sold and shipped. The achievement comes just over a year after the two million sales mark was reached.
“Our products are now used in 85 countries around the world – with over 800 customers ranging from major tier one operators to very locally-focused operators. Reaching this important milestone, within 16 months of announcing the two million sales mark, is a strong vindication of our consistent innovation in bringing new and exciting products to market,” said Amino CEO Andrew Burke.
Amino launched its first product in 2002 and has subsequently developed a range of STBs to deliver IPTV for network operators, hospitality and enterprise markets. It has been particularly successful among North American telcos and in Eastern Europe, where earlier this month it secured a new contract with Rom Telecom’s Dolce.
Recently, Amino has developed the Amino Freedom media centre targeting the growing market for hybrid/OTT devices.
