    Sky Sports News leaving Freeview

    Sky have issued a press release today stating Sky Sports News is to be subscription only and will be replaced on Freeview later this year with Sky3+1.
    This is because freeview is jointly run by BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky and transmitter operator Arqiva, so it's in Sky's interest to make Sky Sports News available on Freeview.
    FreeSat is jointly run by BBC and ITV, so Sky don't want to offer Sky Sports News to FreeSat customers.
