Vodafone to offer iPhone 4 in the UK

Vodafone has confirmed plans to offer the newly-unveiled iPhone 4 in Britain from June 24.
Yesterday, Apple chief executive Steve Jobs officially confirmed the new iPhone at a conference in San Francisco, describing it as the "biggest leap since the original iPhone".
The 9.3 millimetre-thick device features Apple's new Retina screen, which is claimed to be the highest resolution display ever built for a phone.
It also has a five megapixel camera with LED flash, as well as high definition video recording functionality and FaceTime, a new video calling system which can be used "anywhere there is WiFi".
"FaceTime video calling sets a new standard for mobile communication, and our new Retina display is the highest resolution display ever in a phone, with text looking like it does on a fine printed page," said Jobs.
"We have been dreaming about both of these breakthroughs for decades."
The iPhone 4.0 will become available simultaneously to consumers in the US, UK, France, Germany and Japan on June 24.
Vodafone has now confirmed that it will offer the device in Britain, with a variety of different tariffs available for the 16GB and 32GB models.
"As many iPhone users are aware, having the latest technology just isn't enough; you need a great network to get the most out of it," said Vodafone UK consumer director Mark Bond.
"We are very excited about the new iPhone 4 and are confident that our customers will enjoy a great experience on the Vodafone network."
Available in either black or white, the standalone iPhone 4 will be priced in the US at $199 (£137) for the 16GB model or $299 (£206) for the 32GB model. Pricing for other markets has not yet been confirmed.
Customers can begin pre-ordering the device from the Apple Online Store on June 15.
