But when mr murdoch decides enough is enough there will be trouble.
He has the money, power and resources to take on anybody.
Not to mention he hasn't had a good time of it in the u.k. lately with news international, bskyb, phone tapping, etc.

That's exactly what I've been saying. If you ask 100 people maybe 1 or 2 will know what cs is. If the television broadcasters had to start going after everyone it would be in all the papers, news, etc.
It would also go with an in depth description of what it is, making more people aware of it.

Totally agree with you.

Just a little addition: in the press I never heard of CS, with 1 exception: there's a TV magazine (netherlands) which always writes a review of a receiver, a few times they mentioned terms as 'CS', 'hobbiest' and 'alternative firmware'.

To be honoust, even most of my friends and family don't know about CS or my hobby either ; may seem strange, but I like it to keep that way.

Frankly, the less people know about it, the best (my feeling - sorry for the forum(s))

I'm in Spain - and never heard about this... strange - I'll ****** for it - but on tv untill now I didn't see about this... the only thing I saw was about the new electronic equippments being "life duration programmed"... So a printer if it has 1 year of guarantee - it last 14 monts - for example...

At the moment it is still for the hobbyist, don't you think if they tried to catch and prosecute more people, it would get more publicity then more people would want to try it.
To date does anyone how many people have actually got caught and been prosecuted in the U.K or the rest of europe.

For those living in Spain in the Cordoba town of Lucena: best to shut everything down and keep very quiet/offline for some time ; is indeed a bit of the fun, but in their case, think it's not worth it and not at all!

A judge in Alicante, Spain, is investigating a network dedicated to hacking the internet signal for the Canal+ platform, according to sources close to the investigation. The investigation, which is the responsibility of the Technology Crime Brigade National Police, involves dozens of people in Spain in the Cordoba town of Lucena.

It is alleged that a users' forum illegally discharged the signal, a type of crime known as card sharing, which provides illicit access to pay-TV broadcasts.

The Alicante court has identified two of the users, while a third has been accused, according to sources. The police investigations are continuing, with fraud relating to Digital+, Csat, Canal+ (France), Premiere (Germany), Canal Digital (Holland) and other similar pay-TV operators.

That's correct, cash all the way. Even if they has cctv I doubt they'd go to that extreme but there are loads of ways to surf anonymously

Thats fine but how do you top up? If you are using a debit card or a credit card that is enough to trace the address.

Goto a corner shop and buy a topup voucher from paypoint/payzone, it will be a 100% annon topup if the shop has no cctv

Thats the reason to use gbox, udp can`t be traced so it`s more work to configure but save ..

Personally think paying such things with a card is a bad idea, better as bokkie stated: go eg Petrol garage or mobile store and pay in cash.
May seems oldfashioned, but I still prefer cash (I remember a few years ago when on simple cash tickets of general stores my banknumer was printed - been even more suspicious since then).

Well here, you dont need to subscribe, you can buy a PAYG( Pay as You Go) sim but you will have to register it in your name and address.

There are ways around that. Don't think can discuss them on here but proof of address isn't required.
