Re: Two boxes, one motorised dish is it possible
I have that setup but i dont use both at the same time although i have tried and it works, i have what i call a Feedhunting box and a general satellite viewing box both twin tuners and both have fixed diseqc dishes connected to other tuners.

Re: Two boxes, one motorised dish is it possible
Ohh, this is one of the solutions!
I know ppl that some years ago solved their twin tune watching on this way. But only one rec is controlling the rotor.
Nice input, never tried it but, worth the try, if someone has that setup!Leave a comment:

You can have both receivers on at the same time it just means they both have to share the same polarity from the LNB either H or V channelsLeave a comment:

Re: Two boxes, one motorised dish is it possible
I have tried using a loopthrough one cable instead of two and you can control the motor from both boxes but only one box can be on at one time so pros and cons of both waysLeave a comment:

Hello pan1100,
a loopthrough in two differrent rooms? I believe not really practicable.
A simple 1in2out splitter should solve the problem with a single-lnb (if only one receiver is used at the same time). Cheapest solution.Leave a comment:

I use this configuration. the second dec is loop.
however, use a dec at a time.
each dec can turn the engine

Hello mate
A good solution if you dont need to use both boxes at once is to run the cable from the motor into the first box then use the loop-through into the next box.
I think that both could turn the motor.Leave a comment:

yeah, use a twin lnb so you are able to watch different frequencies of an sat. But only move the motor in accordance with the second receiver.Leave a comment:

Re: Two boxes, one motorised dish is it possible
I have two boxes and one dish. One dish is both a positioner and receiver and moves the dish. The second box is just a receiver. Using box one I move to the chosen satellite and if I wish to watch through box 2 I use a switchable scart connection which enables me to view either.Leave a comment:

Re: Two boxes, one motorised dish is it possible
there are more than one solution, would you like to tell us the satellite that you are aiming and the dish size as well the receiver you are having. one way that i can think is a dual twin lnb witch can get you 2 sat at the same time (hotbird and astra).Leave a comment:

Re: Two boxes, one motorised dish is it possible
If you do want to view the boxes at the same time with lines from the server on here it is against the rules.1 box only at a time.
But you can use 1 for the server and 1 for other lines or free channels.Leave a comment:

Re: Two boxes, one motorised dish is it possible
hi rikk
if you only want to watch 1 box at a time, you can use the loopthrough (if one of the boxes has this, of course) - only a simple lnb needed then - and only possible channels on the same sat and tp - sorry, no idea if you can use 2 motorcontrollers on different places.Leave a comment:

Re: Two boxes, one motorised dish is it possible
We all know that with an lnb with multiple outputs you can watch different transponders on two or more receivers or different transponders on a multiple tuner receiver. But as far as I know the only way to have motor control on different boxes would be via a simple switch but you would lose signal on the second receiver.
However with a multi-switch and quatro lnb it may be possible but I cant be sure, you would need to look at technical specification and it could be expensive.

Re: Two boxes, one motorised dish is it possible
How i do it is that i have a twin output lnb first box main connected to the motor then box 2 connected to the second lnb output that way i can control the motor from box one and watch box 2 as well the down side to this set up is i cannot control the motor from box 2Leave a comment:

Re: Two boxes, one motorised dish is it possible
Hello Rikk.
I'll try to answer you on this one. Since rotor on enigma recs uses Diseq 1.2 protocol it IS posible to use 2 recs one a condition that you have lnb with 2 coax ouputs. Either one for one of the recs. Now, since diseq means transponder management system as I am introduced it would be good to try and see if it allows you to watch differenft tran. on two recs...? We already know that it's not possible to watch different sats on it. Transponders are assigned by sattelites that contains them so by software means rec. can't see trans. that is the same as the one on a differrent sat. Ie. 12227 on Astra ansd the same one on HB... In that case it would freez. But try it yourself in practice and report back here to us...
cheers man.Leave a comment:
