Thanks for your reply - I'm definitely interested. As said, I gave up right now (no time) to search any further - if you can show, I would really appreciate it.
My biggest problem is my main box (needs format FAT32) only records TS-file form (not sure) about 1,G GB ; so 1 recorded movie gives +/- 4 different files - so what I need to do is: put the files together, cut intro, cut some advertising, cut the end and in the end burn on dvd. As already said earlier in other posts: my combination of stb + external HDD isn't very stable (loose everything each few months) -> so copying onto dvd would be very handy!

    Thanks.
Let's decide you got ts file with mpeg2 video and mpa audio
    - get avisynth
    _http://sourceforge.net/projects/avisynth2/files/latest/download?source=files
    - get dgmpgdec (freeware version on dgindex) _http://www.besit.ru/soft/mmedia/dgmpgdec158.zip, get tsmuxer _http://www.videohelp.com/download/tsMuxeR_1.10.6.zip
If your ts file is too big, cut it with tsmuxer, or make a set of ts files to use in your dvd compilation.
install avisynth, open dgmpgdec, open your ts file (or multiple ts files - they will be treated like a one parted file), choose "save project and demux video". You will get m2v file, mpa file and you will know audio delay.
    - get muxman _http://www.besit.ru/soft/mmedia/MuxMan.zip (freeware version)
    - open muxman show paths to demuxed files, set audio delay , push start
    - burn dvd, I'd recommend to use IMGBurn _http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download

If you will experience some differences with some software - welcome I'll advance it.

      Re: Convert Sat-Stream to DVD

I've got still an old tool (it comes - FREEWARE- from DvbDream factory) for simple convertion of TS to MPG.
Usually, if you need only this simple job, it works fine, cause it's the lightest thing I know.
Since I don't know if it's still available, I uploaded it here:

      Release notes:
MPGCONV: TS to MPG command-line conversion utility
      ---------------------
This tool utilizes the new ts-to-mpg conversion engine developed for DVB Dream.
To convert a TS file, simply enter the file name as parameter.
      What's New
      ---------------------
      v1.2 (19.06.2008)
      - The TS files which are not synced to TS packet boundaries are handled now.
      - Drag & Drop for GUI
      - "-pids" parameter added to list pids in the file

        Re: Convert Sat-Stream to DVD

I've recorded hundreds of video dvds from my sat-receiver. I've used DBox2 with udrec-direct or "Jack the grabber". I think it's similar to dreambox. There are 2 ways for streaming, TS or elementary streams. I used elementary. If you stream TS, you have to demux. In this case I used a simple dos program for demuxing and wrote a little batch-file for parameters. Or you use a more comfotable program for that.
The elementary streams mp2 (or ac3) and m2v can be cutted with cuttermaran (incl. tmpg-encoder) to optimal results even on b-frames.
Than muxing to dvd-format with ifoedit and shrinking with dvdshrink (2 Films on one singellayer dvd). At the end burning e.g. with nero.

Best results on hundreds of dvds!

Hello, thanks for answers, I've tried cuttermaran, but how to cut on a b-frame?

I'm afraid you are only able to cut in the GOP start, on I-frame.
To cut video on a random position you will need to restore original frames with a frameserver (avisynth) and then reencode.

Me myself doing right this way
If I just want to watch tv show twice, I'll keep it in ts with original video
If I need to store it for a long time, I will index, deinterlace, cut (getting rid of ads) and reencode content, to h264/mkv often.

            Just in case
To reencode content to AVC there's only one civilized way - x264 with MeGUI (_http://sourceforge.net/projects/megui/).
Same for audio to encode to ac3.

              Cutting on B-Frames:

Use cuttermaran. Install TMPGencoder (shareware) and write the path to it in cuttermaran (actions/settings/encoding) and enjoy...
