The leading Russian DTH platform Tricolor TV has declared what it describes as a ‘content revolution’.
Speaking at CSTB 2012 in Moscow and quoted by AKTR, the company’s CEO Aleksandr Makarov said that it plans to launch both a package of foreign content and a package of HD channels in the second quarter of this year.
Tricolor TV is currently received in 9.5 million households and offers viewers over 100 channels for an annual fee of R600 (€15.2).
Until now, it has only included two HD services in the latter, and even they are only available in the east of the country.
Tricolor TV has emphasised that the addition of more channels will not be accompanied by an increase in the subscription fee.
