Spanish media group Vocento, owner of the ABC newspaper and the TV network La 10, has reached an agreement with Viacom International Media Networks to launch a new channel.
Based on fictional content, the new offering will replace the national in the clear channel La 10 and transmission of the new service will begin in Q1 this year.
Through the launch of the new channel, the four frequencies of Net TV (Vocento's former channel) will be occupied by Disney Channel, Intereconomía, MTV and the new channel whose name is still unknown.
The new agreement is a further coming together of Viacom and Vocento after the Spanish group agreed to hire from Viacom space where MTV broadcasts now. The presence of Vocento will be enhanced by the participation of Veralia as a content provider to the new channel.
