Re: Spider to Dreambox?
I've never had a linux box, but from what I've read they are more or less a computer with a linux operation system rather than windows.
So if you have never used that system before I would think it will be a steep learning curve.
But, with all the helpful people on here, not impossible.Leave a comment:

Re: Spider to Dreambox?
they are indeed more programmable. as someone posted before, they can act like computers nowadays. more features too.
i remember sometime ago on ebay, there were people selling a used vuo because it was too complicated for them.Leave a comment:

Re: Spider to Dreambox?
linux boxes are the way forward. don't be frustrated on how difficult it is to configure as you are in the right place. there is plenty of help here. i was prepared to buy a 2nd hand spiderbox (hd7000) but since i already learned how to use a linux box practicing with a dm500, i'd go for a cheap hd box. the skybox s12 or openbox s11 maybe. but that's because that's all the budget i have for a 2nd box. maybe in the future i'd buy a more expensive one. who knows.Hi I have had Spider9000hd for 17 months in which time i have learned to load various software and updates with no problems. From reading many posts on here it looks like Linux is the box to have?.How difficult are Dreamboxs to load and use instead of spider?,any help much apreciated
ThanksLeave a comment:
